Dog Portraits
Dog portraits make a great present. I can work from photos to produce a bespoke portrait, which will immortalize your favourite animal. I take various approaches to painting pet portraits. When it is possible I meet the animal and get to know it, taking several photos, although I have produced posthumous portraits as well. Obviously, I then work with just photographs, but I research the dog breed thoroughly. I once produced a composition of a group of dogs, which were never actually alive at the same time. I have painted many breeds: Cavalier King Charles Spaniels; Labradors; Beagles; and all sorts of terriers, including Yorkshire and Cairn terriers, not to mention some cross-breeds and strange mixtures.
