About
My methods are traditional, drawing on as much information as I can glean from the Masters. I have trained in Italy, France and England and continue to pursue new techniques by attending workshops with leading painters every year. These include: Chelsea School of Art, The Angel Academy and Charles Cecil Studios in Florence, The Accademia di Belle Arti, Venice, as well as many others in France. I have exhibited in shows in France, Morocco and the UK. I currently have some paintings on show in the Oriel Ger-y-Fenai Gallery, LLanfairpwll, North Wales.
I am a fervent supporter of the Realist Revival movement and particularly admire all that the Art Renewal Center, founded by Fred Ross, has done in recent years to promote a renaissance of Realism. One only has to look at the ever-increasing numbers of realist art academies that are springing up around the world to see that the movement is really taking off.
My main work is centred on portrait painting but I also draw on inspiration from the world around me to produce narrative still lifes and landscape paintings in oils and pastels.
I live and work in France, splitting my time between the Savoie and Antibes.
